Agile metrics

In "concurrent process", e.g., Scrum or Scrumban (in new release), we use the main Agile metric - team velocity. It indicates the amount of work team can complete in one iteration (sprint). Amount of work can be expressed by number of requirements (if they are small and uniform), or complexity estimations, e.g., Story Points.

Team velocity can change from sprint to sprint. Constant growth of average value indicates improvement of efficiency of team work. "Development velocity” report is used to monitor a value of this parameter. This report allows to compare planned and actual velocities.

Burndown Chart is used to control sprint deadlines:

Yellow line shows planned amount of work items. Red line shows a required amount of unfinished work for each day of the sprint. Green line shows actual unfinished amount of work. Blue line shows forecast of sprint completion. If a green line is always under the red one, you'll complete the sprint in time.
