Baselines

Baseline is a version of the document bound to some project stage (previous or upcoming) - release or iteration. You can also determine purpose of a baseline independently.

Baseline may be current (editable, contains upcoming changes in product) or previous (non-editable). You can change only the current baseline.

Professional approach is to create a documentation baseline before start of its enhancement within next project stage. Baselines are displayed in the project plan. This allows to control presence of actual documentation for this stage, as well as to use it for working purposes.

Baselines may be used for grouping or filtering requirements to focus only on the documentation used on the corresponding project stage. To switch between baselines and versions within a document, use the corresponding selector located under the editor toolbox.

Documents or separate requirements from different baselines can be compared with each other. Thus, you can figure out what changes have been made to the requirements.

In addition to text changes, system also displays changes to such requirement attributes, as "Estimation", "Workloads", "Actual costs", etc. In comparison mode for the document baselines, modified attributes are displayed automatically above the requirement text.
