Baselines

Baseline is a version of the test plan bound to some project stage - release or iteration. Baselines are displayed in the project plan. This allows to control presence of actual test plans for this stage, as well as to use them for working purposes. You can compare arbitrary baselines of test plans to identify differences between them. Using "Text by date” filter, you can get exactly the same scenario text that corresponds to the specified date.

Development of new product version

Create baselines of test plans prior to making changes caused by enhancements in new product version. That allows you to store scenarios text for verification of previous versions functionality.

Simultaneous development of several product versions

If you need to make changes in several product versions or in product revisions partly adapted for different customers, use branches functionality for test documentation.

Baselines can be used as additional branches of test documentation, thus implementing branches of documentation similarly to branches of program code. That allows to develop documentation simultaneously for several versions of a product.

Devprom ALM automatically prompts which modifications of main documentation baseline should be migrated to other documentation branches.
