Test design management

Test documentation has its own status model (or lifecycle of sections and scenarios). Use it to control the preparation process for test documentation. You can add your own states, e.g., to organize the reconciliation of documentation with stakeholders. Development chart of test documentation reflects the convergence of test design: number of sections in progress, on reconciliation, and in ready status.

You can use synchronous modification of sections and scenarios to accelerate status control. For example, to mark test plan as ready, it’s sufficient to change its state, and all its subsections will also pass to "Ready” status. Such synchronous operations are set up in test scenario lifecycle by means of the corresponding system actions.

When developing test documentation, you can create tasks based on test scenarios or test plan sections. Such tasks allow to distribute work items between testers, plan workloads, perform planned/actual analysis, and manage human resources.

You can see list of the assigned tasks in "My tasks” list. You can manage a test plan using the tasks board or the specific board for test tasks.

Change control in test documentation

During the review of test scenarios, questions and remarks regarding the text may arise. You can highlight part of the text, and then add a comment. Unfinished comments in the document are displayed on the additional right panel. Click on a comment to navigate to the corresponding document section.

Using "Comments” filter, you can display only parts of the document with unfinished comments, or only your comments. That significantly accelerates reconciliation process for test plan.

Use the comment state (completed / open) to indicate that a comment has been taken into account (implemented by means of making changes), or it is no longer relevant (if a comprehensive answer has been provided). You can control the comment state using a tick mark on the right comment panel, or using the context menu on Comments tab of edit form for test scenarios or test plan section.
